During my quest to learn French, which has included translating a 200 page comic and reading the back of every shampoo and lotion bottle that I can, I have been watching a ton of French films. I don't even care if they are bad- and trust me, there are a lot of bad ones. However, I came across Nuit #1 on Netflix the other day and I can't stop thinking about it. You don't even need to know French to watch the trailer. If you can get past the 15 minute sex scene (which, I dunno, could be a plus for you?), it perfectly captures the dirty, terrifying freedom of being more lost, more young, and more fragile than you think you are.
